FAQ
Dehydrated black soldier fly larvae are suitable for a wide variety of animals: poultry (chickens, quail, ducks), reptiles (geckos, bearded dragons, chameleons), fish (ornamental, koi, pond fish), and exotic pets (hedgehogs, insectivorous birds, hamsters, turtles). They are a versatile food widely accepted by most species.
Dehydrated larvae are stored at room temperature in a cool, dry place without refrigeration. Their moisture content below 8% ensures a long shelf life. We recommend sealing the packaging after each use to maintain freshness.
Yes. Our larvae are produced in controlled facilities under strict quality and food safety standards. They contain no antibiotics, hormones, pesticides or heavy metals. They are a 100% natural and safe food for all indicated species.
The amount depends on the species and size of the animal. As a general guide: chickens 10-20g/day as a supplement, medium reptiles 5-10g every 2-3 days, fish a pinch daily, hedgehogs 5-10g/day. Larvae should be used as a supplement to the base diet, not as the sole food source.
Black soldier fly larvae (BSF) have significant nutritional advantages over mealworms: higher calcium content (reducing the need for supplementation), better calcium-to-phosphorus ratio, presence of antimicrobial lauric acid, and much more sustainable production with a lower environmental footprint.
We offer packages starting from 5 kg for individuals. For orders over 300 kg the price drops to 3.50 EUR/kg. We ship throughout Spain and Europe. Contact us for custom orders or volume pricing.
In many cases, yes. Dehydrated larvae retain most of the nutrients of fresh larvae and are much more practical to store and dose. For reptiles, we recommend combining them with live insects occasionally to stimulate the hunting instinct, although many keepers use them as the main source.
